Espagne : Pegasus Solutions Reports Spain Hotel Revenue Rises More than 10%
Net Bookings for 2011 Finish Year up +4.0% with Rates Rising by +4.6%
The Spanish hotel industry realized double-digit revenue growth in 2011 of +10.5% over 2010, according to data released today by Pegasus Solutions during the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) at stand #8B29. The data also showed combined leisure and corporate bookings for Spanish hotels were up +4.0% over prior year at the end of 2011, with average daily rates (ADR) climbing +4.6%.
The year's greatest growth margins were achieved during the first quarter before the negative effects of nearby political uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa, and heightened concern over the European debt crisis. Leisure travel ADRs for the full year, however, not only grew by +8.6% over 2010, but also achieved double-digit increases during the peak summer and spring vacation travel periods. In the corporate space, bookings were up by +4.6%, while rates rose +4.2%.
