Etats-Unis : prévisions des réservations touristiques chinoises aux Etats-Unis (Bookings Projected to Remain Strong through the First Quarter of 2012)
- According to the U.S. Department of Commerce sponsored China Travel Trade Barometer, a majority of the tour operators surveyed (as of December 1 - 30, 2011) reported higher bookings from China to the United States (including Hawaii and Guam) in the fourth quarter 2011, increasing 10 to 15 percent, on average, compared to fourth quarter 2010. A minority (4%) reported declined bookings.
- Three quarters (75%) of the Chinese travel trade projected first quarter 2012 bookings to increase. More than one quarter (29%) of the respondents projected bookings to be much' higher, while almost half of the respondents (46%) projected bookings to be higher. Bookings to the U.S. mainland alone were projected to be slightly higher.
- Approximately eight out of ten (79%) of the top Chinese travel trade projected second quarter 2012 bookings from China to the United States to be higher, on average, compared to second quarter 2011. None of the tour operators reported declining bookings.
- The Chinese trade projected that fully organized tours with an escort would register the strongest growth in the first half of 2012. In contrast, tours that include accommodations near but outside a major city center' were projected to be flat in the next six months.
- Over the next six months, the top motivator for travel to the United States was reported to be direct air service to desired destinations.Natural disasters in the United States ranked as the top deterrent for travel to the United States over the next six months.
