Près de 60 % des Américains comptent prendre des congés cet été
Americans love their vacations! So it’s not surprising that the amount of money they spend on them each year is often considered as a reflection of the current state of economy. Morpace thought it would be interesting to find out if they do plan to travel this summer and if so, how far they will go and how much they will spend.
The Morpace Omnibus fielded in May 2012 found that 58% of Americans are planning to vacation this summer. Sixteen percent are undecided and 26% do not intend to travel.
Gas prices have been a major consideration for Americans over the last several years as prices have fluctuated and continue to rise.
However it appears that a majority of Americans are still willing to travel “long” distance for their vacation this summer. Perhaps Americans are getting accustomed to higher gas prices as compared to a decade or so ago.
